Assam, with its extensive network of rivers, is highly vulnerable to natural disasters such as floods and erosion, which have a negative impact on the overall development of the state. The Brahmaputra and Barak rivers, along with more than 50 tributaries, cause devastating floods during the monsoon season each year.
For the past 15 years, Tezpur Social Service Society has been providing essential humanitarian emergency relief services to flood victims. We work closely with our donor agencies to support those affected by floods and collaborate with government departments in Assam to stand in solidarity with the flood victims. We also extend our emergency support to promote peace-building and solidarity among those affected by any natural calamities or conflicts that bring destruction to communities beyond floods.
